On the weekend of March 6, a bumper card was held in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, as part of the series “Viva México: Boxing is back in Tamaulipas”.
In the main event, Mexican José “Matador” Charles (17-2-1, 12KOs) defeated once-beaten Raúl “El Principe” Ortega (9-2, 6KOs) by majority decision, defending his Fecarbox middleweight title affiliated to the World Boxing Council.
On the undercard, Erick Encina defeated José Luis Baltazar III by split decision, offering an excellent fight.
There were also 13 more fights, where all the boxers did the event proud, as they gave of themselves to the fullest. The WBC recognizes and praises the efforts of the organizers to reactivate the sport in this region.
