With regards to who the current WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO and The Ring super middleweight champion Canelo Álvarez will come up against next, it appears that undefeated middleweight Jermall Charlo is the current market leader, according to betideas.com .

Two-weight world champion Jermall Charlo has gone unbeaten in 33 bouts, with 22 by way of knockout, and at 4/6 looks the likeliest to challenge the Mexican next following the latter’s win against Jaime Munguia last weekend. The fight would make a lot of sense seeing as Canelo inflicted a defeat upon his twin brother, Jermell, in September 2023 , so Jermall could be given a chance for family revenge exactly a year later.

There is another short-priced bout in the market, with a fight against another undefeated champion in Terence Crawford at 7/4. Although more unlikely, a fight against David Benavidez (8/1) and a rematch against Munguia (14/1) still look to be on the cards.

“Further out in the market lie David Benavidez at 8/1 and a rematch against Jaime Munguia the outsider at 14/1.”

GBN Editor, Tim Rickson, added: “Canelo Álvarez was so dominant over Jaime Munguia that a rematch is fruitless. The Benavidez is obviously the main one that everyone wants to see, but now that he has moved up instead of waiting around, I view them both on different paths now, which I doubt will ever lead back to each other ever again, unfortunately.

“Therefore, a matchup with Jermell’s brother Jermall does make perfect sense, but it’s not a fight that inspires much excitement, for me personally.”
