Rivero is crowned WBC Mediterranean light-flyweight champ

At the Huerta del Rey Sports Center in Valladolid, Spain, the local fighter Isabel Rivero (4-2-1) defeated Albanian Griselda Torollari (2-2, 1KO) by unanimous decision, conquering the World Boxing Council Mediterranean light-flyweight title.

Valladolid fighter Isabel, 35, improved her record to four wins, two losses and one draw, while 19-year-old Griselda was left with an even number of wins and losses.

The contest was entertaining, but Rivero showed the better condition, pace, stamina and superior boxing skills from the outset.

The judges scorecards were 99-90, 98-91, 99-90. The Supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.
