Congratulations to GGG

Two-time IBO Middleweight World champion Gennadiy Golovkin has just been confirmed as new President of World Boxing at the Congress 2025 in Rome.

Golovkin is widely considered to be Kazakhstan's greatest ever boxer. He won a silver medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004 before entering the professional ranks where he won the IBO World title twice and defended it a record 20 times.

"Triple G" has been the President of Kazakhstan's National Olympic Committee since 2024 and he will also be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in June 2026.

From the Canvas to the Crown

Undefeated Cameroonian Pamela Sawa Noutcho (10-0, 2 KOs) climbed off the canvas in round seven to take a narrow split decision win over Argentinian Karen Elizabeth Carbajal (25-3, 4 KOs) in Bologna, Italy to claim the vacant IBO World Lightweight crown.
