In-form super-featherweight star Zelfa Barrett (31-2, 17KO) faces Mexican Cristian Bielma (19-8-2, 7KO) on Saturday, November 30 in Bolton.

The 31-year-old is back on VIP Boxing’s stacked 12-fight card in Bolton, to be shown live on the Boxing News YouTube channel , seven months after stopping Jordan Gill in 10 rounds.

Barrett dropped Gill twice at the AO Arena in Manchester in April to claim the WBA international super-featherweight title.

Frustratingly, the 'Brown Flash' has been out of the ring for 33 weeks.

“That’s why I’m so desperate to fight and to be a world champion,” Barrett told the VIP Boxing YouTube channel.

“I believe I’m better than the rest of the world champions. I think they know it too, because no one’s not asking to fight me,” Zelfa said.

Barrett is confident the best is still to come, “I’m excited to fight in big fights now because there’s still another style that I’ve not had to show yet, really. They’ve not seen the full potential.

“Some people develop mentally and physically differently to others. You get some fighters that have developed when they’re only 20, 24. Maybe when they’re 29, they just dip. And I feel like I’m one of them fighters where mentally I matured later, physically I matured later.”

His 34th opponent comes from Mexicali and is also 31. A former NABF super-featherweight champion, Bielma went the 10-round distance with Luis Alberto Lopez way back in 2017.

The Mexican known as 'El Gato Gordo' has only won one in his last seven bouts.

On the undercard, 'Sugar Kane' Gardner (17-3, 7KO), 29 from Beswick, challenges for the vacant Central Area super-lightweight title against Morecombe's 'Raging Bull' Reece MacMillan (16-1, 2KO).
