John Hedges vs Pat Brown full fight details

John Hedges is backing himself to silence the boo boys and beat Pat Brown in his own backyard at Manchester's Co-op Live on Saturday night – live worldwide on DAZN.

Brown was afforded a heroes' reception as he tipped the scales at 199.15lbs in front of a bumper home crowd on Friday night.

'The Bomber', undefeated since turning pro over a year ago with a flawless 6-0 record with as many knockouts, faces his toughest test to date in the form of Essex's 12-0 (3 KOs) southpaw Hedges with the vacant British & Commonwealth Cruiserweight titles on the line, along with his WBA International and IBF Intercontinental belts.

As Brown was serenaded by his vocal support, Hedges told the partisan crowd he plans to spoil their party tomorrow night.

Speaking on stage, 'The Gentleman' Hedges said: “Look, it’s a hostile environment but I’m used to it now.

“Pat knows the score and he’ll need to go into the trenches. This is nothing new to me. We are two fighting men and we will put on a fight come Saturday night. I’m ready to put on a hell of a performance.

“I’ve got used to this now. It is my 13th fight as a pro and I plan to give my best performance come Saturday night, I promise you that. I don’t predict fights but I must win at all costs. I need to get my arm raised.”

Brown, meanwhile, played up to his support and promised to deliver fireworks in his quest to be crowned the best in Britain and take home to coveted Lord Londsale strap.

“Thank you everyone for coming out,” said Brown.

"This is what I have been born to do since seven years of age, my Dad has taken me to the gym. This is what I have been made to do since I was a lad.

“I am going to be on him [John Hedges] like a rash. Trust me. I’m f****** on it. Let’s go.”

Prediction

Dom Farrell, Sporting News: "Hedges is a different puzzle. A southpaw, he will look to box, move and be awkward for Brown. The Commonwealth champion must deny his foe the encouragement of landing his sledgehammer right hand early. Making Brown miss as a means of draining his tank will be central to the strategy.

"The issue for Hedges is a relative lack of power. Just three stoppages against moderate opposition suggests he might not have the pop in his shots to dissuade Brown from marauding forward. As you'd expect from any Moore fighter, the 26-year-old cuts the ring off well and lands spitefully to the body.

"There might be moments where Brown is made to look rudimentary by the stylish Hedges, but expect him to hunt his man down and get him out of there during the middle rounds.

"Brown via TKO 7/12."
