Granit Shala and Petar Milas clash for the IBF International heavyweight title

Milas and Shala set for 50/50 showdown

The co-main event to the Agit Kabayel vs Damian Knyba card in Oberhausen on January 10 is set to be contested for the IBF International Heavyweight Title between champion Granit Shala (18-1, 7 KOs) and challenger Petar Milas (19-1, 15 KOs).

Shala is under contract with AGON Sports, while Milas fights out of FIDES Sports Promotion.

As an amateur, Shala was among the country’s top super-heavyweights, winning the national championship and also defeating Peter Kadiru. However, his bid to become EBU European Champion ended in emphatic fashion when he was stopped by Ukrainian Oleksandr Zakhozhyi. Shala bounced back impressively thereafter with a convincing win over Daniel Dietz.

Now he faces Munich's Milas, an equally hungry and heavy-hitting heavyweight. Milas has suffered only one defeat—against Olympic champion Tony Yoka in France—and was one of the few men able to stop Kevin Johnson inside the distance.

Does Shala have the toughness and mental strength to prevail over a relentless Milas across 10 rounds? A true 50/50 fight awaits the fans in Oberhausen.
