Get to know Devon Kelly as he returns on March 13 for Thunderdome 53

Friday the 13th of March, Dragon Fire Boxing hits the Metro City Arena for the first time this year for Thunderdome 53 with a stacked card full of title fights and up-and-coming talent.

One of the prospects coming through is welterweight Devon Kelly (2-0, 1 KO) from Perth.

Kelly is unbeaten in two bouts and returns March 13 at Thunderdome 53 ready to for a show stealing performance.

Unknown to many, after just two pro bouts in March and August last year, the Ringfit Training Centre prospect shared some info about he he first got into boxing and it's quite unusual to most other stories.

Devon Kelly revealed, “I was 17-years-old when I started boxing; I got into boxing after watching a Japanese anime show called Hajime No Ippo, then just loved it ever since I started.”

Kelly defeated Tanaka Saburi in his pro debut last March, who will also have his third pro fight on the Thunderdome 53 card.

Devon outpointed Saburi over four rounds, then he knocked out unbeaten Beejay Boonket five months later in August.

On March 13, he faces Nepal's Bikash Rana (0-1), “My thoughts about my upcoming fight in March are that I’m excited to versus my first international opponent and keen to see what a Nepal fighter brings to the table.

“I’ll just keep it simple just enjoy the show I’m going to put on and as always thanks for coming and supporting me.”

Devon Kelly concluded, “My goals for 2026 are that it would be wicked to fight for the WA state title this year; I don’t wanna be the only pro in the Ringfit stable to not have a belt because I know Owen and Lewie are gonna have one after March, and Sam’s gonna have multiple.”
