Gennady Golovkin appointed president of the Kazakh Olympic Committee

Gennady Golovkin has accepted the role of Kazakh Olympic Committee president

Two-time middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37KO) has just been appointed president of the Kazakh Olympic Committee.

Golovkin, close to turning 42, has replaced businessman Timur Kulibayev.

Not only did Triple G acheive greatness as a professional boxer, his career spanning 16 years from 2006-2022, winning multiple world titles.

But as an amateur, he also achieved an incredible record of 345-5, winning a World Championships gold and an Olympic silver medal.

He will undoubtedly go down in history as Kazakhstan's greatest ever boxer and now has the opportunity to remain in the sport he loves to help bring new talent through.

The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán congratulated Gennady for his new appointment and on another great achievement in his life.
