Frank Warren provides finer details of the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua mega-fight

In an interview with Playbook Boxing powered by Betway, Hall of Fame promoter Frank Warren revealed exactly who is promoting the proposed November super-fight between longstanding rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, as well as naming the broadcaster.

Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua now looking likely it could take place in the States. Would you be disappointed that it happens over there?

Frank: Well, look, we'd all like to see in this country and it’s natural home is Wembley, but I understand they've been trying to do it, Sela [wanted to] do it in the early hours of the morning, and there's all sorts of implications. The fight's on Netflix.

Netflix have been asked, saying that they want it in the States. So, it's all got to be finalised, but, like, as I've been saying for ages, I can't tell anybody what they want to hear because no one knows at this stage what's done.

Everyone's got to sign off on it, and I think Eddie and AJ categorically said that, as far as they're concerned, they've not signed off on anything yet. So, that's where we are.

Spencer Brown said there's going to be some big news announced this week. It may be out around that fight. How influential are you on that fight being made?

Frank: Well, I work with Tyson Fury. I've got an arrangement with him, and I work with him as regarding the paymasters for that fight, and who's done the deal, who's running the event, and that's Sela.

They've put the money up. They're the ones who've put the guarantees up and the money. They're the ones who paid for the two comeback fights for him.

If they're the paymasters, and they want to build a market out in the States or put a heavyweight title fight there because of the history of MSG, that's where it goes?

Frank: We will see. Everybody's got to agree on it, I'm sure they will at the end of the day. It'll be worked out. The main thing is whatever—look, if it's at Wembley, 90,000 people would go to it if it was there.

It's on Netflix, so there's no pay-per-view. So, it means that 96,000 people won't be out in this country watching it live. If it's in America, it's at Madison Square Garden, like 20-odd thousand can get in there. But the millions who will watch it anyway on Netflix. So, it is what it is.
