Francis Chua calls out Billy Dib vs Kye MacKenzie winner

A domestic three-way dance is in the works 'Down Under' with an all-Australian grudge match between former world champion Billy Dib (47-6, 27KOs) and Kye MacKenzie (21-2, 27KOs) looming in March, and Australia's most avoided fighter Francis Chua (7-1-1, 3KOs) waiting in the wings.

Their fight could feature on the undercard of Tim Tszyu’s bout against Dennis Hogan on March 31, and may even be for an interim world title at lightweight.

Former IBF world champion Billy Dib, fresh off a round 7 TKO victory over Joey Baylon in January 2021, has been called out by WBA Oceania Lightweight Champion MacKenzie, who won his title with a unanimous decision revenge win over Chua in his last fight in November 2019.

"All respect to Billy Dib on the challenge," said MacKenzie, who was defeated by southpaw Chua, when they first met in November 2018.

"I’m the young warrior in this clash and I’m burning to take the crown to make a statement to the World!"

"The Removalist" Francis Chua, from Perth, previously upset MacKenzie’s tilt at a world title shot against Vasyl Lomachenko when he beat the WBO #2 in front of a 40,000 crowd as the undercard to a Jeff Horn bout in Brisbane. That November 2018’s clash with Kye Mackenzie was voted Australasian “Upset of the Year”.

Once-beaten Chua will first have to contend with undefeated Nigerian-born prospect Kazeem Soyoye (3-0, 2KOs) on February 26 at the World famous Thunderdome at Metro City in Perth. It will be the Main Event for the WBA Oceania Super Featherweight Championship.

Chua is Australia's boogeyman of the Super Featherweight and Lightweight divisions, the only man willing to face him is undefeated prospect Kazeem "The African Dream", acorrding to his manager, Tony Tolj.

Chua discuss his upcoming title clash and his future plans.
