Floyd Mayweather hints at professional return ahead of Mike Tyson bout

Could Floyd Mayweather add to his perfect 50-0 record?

Floyd Mayweather boxed for the final time as a professional in 2017, stopping UFC superstar Conor McGregor and retiring with a perfect 50-0 record.

He's had numerous exhibition fights since then, and now plans to step into the ring for another exhibition. This time against fellow legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson

Speaking to TMZ , Mayweather is clearly looking forward to the bout, promising an exciting night of boxing.

“I’m not really training right now. The fight is in 2026; we are still ironing out everything, but I’m pretty sure that it is going to be exciting for the people and the fans.

“I just want to give the fans what they want to see, excitement. So, I’m pretty sure that it’s going to be an exciting event and people from all around the world are going to enjoy it.

“I am glad that I am still able to entertain for the people and that they are still able to see just a glimpse of [the old] me.”

The pair are set to face off in Early 2026, with no official date yet confirmed. However, Mayweather has revealed that he has toyed with entering the professional scene for one last dance following his showdown with ‘Iron Mike’.

"There's been talks. There's been talks. It's possible,” he stated.

"Not all [against that possibility], but we just don't know.

"But as of right now, everything is going great, and I feel good. Working hard every day, and I can't wait for 2026."

The 48-year-old had previously revealed that he had no interest in making a professional comeback, though his mind seems to have been changed.

Though a Mayweather return is a box office dream, and with Money in his name, it's highly likely he could be tempted to push for 51-0 if the fee is right.
