Fabio Wardley is chasing all-British showdowns

Fabio Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) will take on Daniel Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) on May 9, headlining a Queensberry Promotions card in Manchester. 

The pair, both current and former world champions, are two of Britain's best in the heavyweight division – both men will be looking to add another notch to their already impressive records. 

Dubois is coming off the back of a one-sided stoppage pummelling at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk, where controversy followed as the 26-year-old was found to be partying just hours before his career-defining fight. 

On the other hand, Wardley has yet to face defeat, with his equalising power proving too much for any man he has come face-to-face with. 

His last performance saw him clutch a late stoppage over heavyweight veteran Joseph Parker last October. 

The bout was originally planned as a final elimination showdown, but given Oleksandr usyks decision to vacate, the Ipswich man was upgraded to WBO world heavyweight champion. 

Wardley's upcoming clash is one of Britain's most hotly anticipated fights. Wardley is revelling in the hype, excited to continue to chase his country's biggest stars. 

Speaking to Daily Mail Boxing, the 31-year-old has revealed that Tyson Fury will be on his radar should he find victory over ‘Triple D’

“I gave him [Fury] an open invitation to say, ‘Look, if you want it, I’m here. Call me. Just let me know. It’s no bother to me; if you want to go in April, I’ll go in April.’

“But obviously, he’s fighting Makhmudov and doing his own thing. Hopefully – fingers crossed – he comes through that, and then I get through Daniel, and then, on the other side, we find ourselves in Wardley-Fury territory.”
