Errol Spence Jr involved in horrific car crash last night
Sources have confirmed that WBC and IBF world champion Errol Spence Jr (26-0, 21 KOs) was seriously injured in an overnight crash along Riverfront Blvd in Dallas in the early hours of October 10.
The undefeated 29-year-old unified welterweight world champion is currently being treated in a nearby hospital.
Early reports have established that at 2:43am on October 10, a white Ferrari travelling at high speeds northbound in the 500 S.Riverfront Blvd. veered left over the center median onto the southbound lanes and flipped multiple times ejecting the driver who wasn't believed to be wearing a seatbelt.
The driver, now revealed as Errol Spence Jr, was taken to the local hospital where is expected to live but in critical condition in an intensive care unit.
The cause of the crash is still unknown at this point in time.
The talented Texan was last seen unifying the IBF and WBC Welterweight World Titles against two-time champion "Showtime" Shawn Porter (30-3-1,17 KOs) in an action packed fight at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on September 28.
Danny Garcia approached him straight after the fight requesting a showdown, but Spence had his eye on Manny Pacquiao next. Unfortunately, these fights will not be materialising any time soon after the recent events.
