Thorslund and Cetin clash for two titles

Dina Thorslund and Seren Cetin will meet in a 10-round duel Saturday, February 24, in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the world titles of the WBC and the WBO.

Thorslund, undefeated and world number 1, held the WBO super bantamweight world title from 2018 to 2020. After three successful defenses, she decided to campaign at bantamweight in June 2021 and won the WBO world title again against the Mexican Jasseth Noriega.

That same year, she defended successfully when she knocked out fellow Mexican, Zulina Muñoz, in the seventh round. In 2022, she defended the belt with a points victory over Venezuelan Niorkis Carreño.

Last September she challenged WBC world champion Yuliahn Luna of Mexico in a home gala to unify the belts and now she will defend against Seren Cetin.

The Turkish boxer won the WBC silver title two years ago by stopping Austrian Eva Voraberger in the fourth round. Last year she defended the belt with a points victory over Spain’s Mary Romero and became the mandatory challenger to current champion Thorslund.

The fight is promoted by Bettina Pale and will be broadcast on Pluto TV.
