David Adeleye allows his Queensberry contract to expire

Former British heavyweight champion David Adeleye (14-2, 13 KOs) has decided not to renew his contract with Queensberry Promotions, despite turning pro with Frank Warren six-and-a-half years ago in 2019.

The heavy-handed Londoner released this statement on his socials, "First and foremost, a massive thank you to everyone at Queensberry for all the years we've had together.

"I've been with Frank from the beginning of my professional career and I'll always be grateful for the opportunities, the big nights and everythong we've achieved along the way.

"After a lot of thought, I felt the time was right for a new challenge. I made the decision to see out my contract and not re-sign, so as of now I'm officially a free agent.

"Now it's time for the next chapter, I'm excited, hungry and ready to see what's next."

29 from Ladbroke Grove, London, "Big D" has won English and British heavyweight titles under the Queensberry banner, as well as the WBO European belt.

Although the heavyweight has fought exclusively on Queensberry events, there has been a few shows co-promoted with Matchroom. However, most fans are predicting the Londoner to be yet another star jumping onto the Zuffa Boxing wagon, where the likes of Conor Benn have left longstanding contracts to join the new promotional outfit run by UFC's Dana White, where the wages are a lot more attractive due to 'Saudi' money coming from Turki Alalshikh.
