Warwick boxing star Jaya Kalsi selected for the Youth Olympic Games
Warwick’s Jaya Kalsi is celebrating the biggest achievement of her young boxing career after being selected to represent Great Britain at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal in November.
The 17-year-old, who lives in Warwick and trains at Cleary’s Boxing Gym in Leamington Spa, has earned her place on the Great Britain team following years of dedication and success at national and international level.
Jaya is a member of Cleary’s Gym & on the England Performance Squad and has proudly represented England for five consecutive years, establishing herself as one of the country’s most successful young boxers.
Her selection comes after an impressive international campaign, including a bronze medal at the World Futures Cup in Bangkok in March 2026, where she competed against some of the best young boxers from around the world which was a qualifier for the Youth Olympic Games.
Now, Jaya has been given the incredible opportunity to take the next step and represent Great Britain on the Youth Olympic stage.
Her medal collection already speaks for itself. Jaya is a European Gold Medallist and European Silver Medallist, a two-time GB Gold Medallist, three-time National Champion, International Gold Medallist, Golden Girl Champion and multiple Box Cup Champion.
Her latest bronze medal in Bangkok adds another significant international achievement to an already outstanding young career.
For Jaya, being selected to represent Great Britain is the realisation of a dream she has worked tirelessly towards.
To put on the Great Britain vest and compete on the Olympic stage is an incredible honour and a proud moment not only for Jaya, but for her family, coaches, Cleary’s Boxing Gym and the wider Warwick community.
Jaya’s journey is a testament to the dedication required to reach the highest levels of amateur boxing. Behind the medals and titles are countless hours of training, travelling, competing and making sacrifices to pursue her ambitions.
From her home in Warwick to international competitions around the world, Jaya has continued to develop into an elite young boxer.
Now she will have the opportunity to showcase her talent on one of the biggest stages of all.
For a young boxer with ambitions of reaching the very top of the sport, this is another huge milestone and potentially the beginning of an even bigger Olympic journey
Jaya is also passionate about using her journey to inspire other young people to believe in themselves, work hard and follow their dreams, whatever their background or circumstances. She hopes that sharing her story will encourage other young people in the local community to get involved in sport, set themselves goals and realise what they can achieve through commitment and determination.
