BiYu Brawl will go monthly from January 2026

Houston boxing promoter Bobby Harrison is set to supercharge his boxing operations with a series of major changes and partnerships.

Ambitious Harrison, CEO of BiYu Promotions, plans to increase its number of boxing events following the launch of the successful BiYu Brawl series in Houston in 2025.

The BiYu Brawl series will go monthly from January 2026 in Houston, with Brawl IV on January 30th. Harrison is also looking at other locations where he can stage monthly boxing shows, primarily in partnership with other promoters.

The first step has seen BiYu Promotions bolster its presence in the Dominican Republic with a partnership with well-respected Shuan Boxing Promotions.

The partnership begins with the first official co-promoted event in Santo Domingo next month.

It will feature fight nights on Friday 12 December and Saturday 13 December. WBO NABO super featherweight Eridson Garcia (22-1), who is ranked #11 by the WBO, tops the bill in his home town on Friday.

Saturday’s card is headlined by Edwin de los Santos (16-2) who returns to the ring for his first bout since losing a WBC lightweight world title bout to Shakur Stevenson in November 2023.

Harrison, who is Garcia’s manager, believes this will develop as a strong partnership, given the number of fighters he has under contract from the Dominican Republic.

“I met with Belgica Pena, who oversees Shuan’s boxing events, in September and we agreed to co-promote three or four shows a year together,” said Harrison.

“Shuan is very well respected in the industry and has a superb track record. They regularly attract large numbers to each event and have an excellent roster of fighters.

“This is an exciting partnership for us as it builds our presence and awareness there. It also allows us to keep our fighters active and almost all of them will be fighting that weekend.”

Pena said: “I was speaking with Eridson and with Rene Vazquez, BiYu Promotions’ trainer and matchmaker, about working with BiYu Promotions on events.

“It was interesting to hear that they wanted to work together with us. We do large shows every couple of months and we will do our first show together in December and then more in 2026.

“I know BiYu Promotions has some talented boxers from the Dominican Republic, such as Eridson and also Mateo Abreu, and this is an excellent opportunity for their boxers to build experience.”

Harrison is also looking to work again with Marquez Promotions, run by former multiple world champion Juan Manual Marquez, following a successful show in early September.

Harrison is also recruiting more boxers to his stable and has added a quartet of fighters including 24-year-old Kentucky super flyweight Yusniel Abrahante (6-2); Ohio-based 27-year-old welterweight VeShawn Champion (8-0); 23-year-old Dominican Republic cruiserweight Starlyn Guzman (1-0) and fellow DR fighter 20-year-old bantamweight Angel Rodriguez (1-0).

He added: “A lot of people are seeing what we’re doing with our boxers, our shows and partnerships and a lot of people want to work with us.

“I want to see us recruit more talent as we look to put on more shows. My team and I are extremely proud of that very excited to see this through.”
