British professional boxer Balraj Khara (9-2-2, 1 KO) will make his highly anticipated return to the ring on 19th September when he takes on experienced Costa Rican fighter Jose Aguirre (2-28, 1 KO) at Harrow Leisure Centre, London. Aguirre brings more than 30 professional contests to the ring, providing Khara with a valuable test as he continues his journey through the professional ranks.

The bout marks the latest chapter in an inspiring boxing story that has seen Khara establish himself as one of British boxing's most determined and compelling figures.

Born in Chichester and raised in Feltham, West London, Khara competes in the super-middleweight division and turned professional in 2022 following a successful amateur career. Since then, he has steadily built his reputation through a combination of technical skill, relentless work ethic and extraordinary focus.

What makes Khara's story particularly remarkable is that he was born with a hearing impairment, something he believes has become one of his greatest strengths.

"In boxing, distractions can make all the difference," says Khara.

"Most people see hearing loss as something that holds you back. I've always chosen to see it differently. It has taught me how to focus completely on the task in front of me. When I'm in the ring, everything narrows down to what matters most. That's why I call it my superpower."

Now training at Ivybridge Boxing Club in Isleworth under head coach John Holland, Khara has continued to refine his craft while also mentoring younger fighters and supporting community initiatives. Alongside his boxing career, he works with the charity Rise and Thrive, helping raise awareness of child exploitation and encouraging young people to overcome challenges and realise their potential.

The September contest presents another important opportunity for the British Sikh boxer to showcase his progress.

Khara said: "Every fight is a step forward. I've been working hard in the gym, improving every aspect of my game, and I'm looking forward to putting on a strong performance.
