2026 is set to be a huge year for British boxing

There's been yet another step in the right direction surrounding a long-awaited clash between Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KO’s) and Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO’s).

For close to a decade, the pair have been closely linked to a showdown, and the stars looked to have aligned in 2021. Unfortunately, Deontay Wilder activated a rematch clause with ‘The Gypsy King’ and Joshua - who didn't want to wait around - pursued a two-fight saga against Oleksandr Usyk , coming out on the losing end on both occasions.

While both men may now be past their best, there is still huge demand for the fight, which would likely go down as one of the biggest events in British boxing history.

And the boxing world may finally get what they have wished for, with The Ring - owned by the highly influential Turki Alalshikh - revealing that the duo are set to meet on a Riyadh Season card next year.

“Sources have advised The Ring that a highly anticipated showdown between former heavyweight champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will headline a Riyadh Season mega-event in 2026.”

However, The Ring also revealed that both men will make ring returns early in 2026 against alternative opponents.

For the British showdown to get the green light, both men will likely be required to win their respective bouts.

“Before that collision happens, The Ring has also learned that Fury and Joshua are slated to see action in separate fights as part of next year’s Riyadh Season.”

The news comes after Tyson Fury posted a cryptic message on social media , leading many to believe that the former world champion is planning to return from retirement for multiple fights in the near future.

Joshua, on the other hand, is already preparing to shake off his ring rust, as he faces off against Jake Paul on December 19 on a star-studded Netflix card in Miami, Florida.
