Andrii Boryshpolets crowned WBC Ukraine super-lightweight champion

New WBC Ukraine Super Lightweight Champion – Andrii Boryshpolets

Andrii Boryshpolets, a 27-year-old Ukrainian boxer from Kyiv, won the WBC Ukraine and Ukraine titles in the super lightweight division.

On September 28, Kyiv hosted a title fight between Ukrainian boxers: WBC Silver Youth titleholder Nazri Rahimov (14-4, 8KO) and Andrii Boryshpolets (10-2-4KO) for the vacant WBC Ukraine and Champion of Ukraine super lightweight titles.

The fight lasted 10 competitive rounds. Nazri, the undoubted favourite of the audience, launched intense attacks from the first rounds, but beating the left-handed Andrii Boryshpolets proved to be not as easy as Rahimov had imagined.

The first 4 rounds were very close, but it was the fifth round when the first blood appeared on Nazri’s face, and Andrii started working in a more technical way, thus, leading on the scorecards of the two judges.

In the last rounds, the boxers showed a fierce emotional slugfest that the audiences love so much.

According to the results of the 10-round fight, Andrii Boryshpolets earned his victory by a Majority Decision (MD) of the judges: 93-97, 94-96 and 95-95.
